Barking Abbey London Lions (WBBL) have bolstered their team by signing 35-year-old American point guard Sheylani Peddy, who stands at 170cm tall and played college basketball at Temple. Peddy most recently played for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA, where she averaged 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game in 18 appearances last season.
In 2012, she was drafted by the Indiana Fever in the second round (23rd overall) of the WNBA.
She graduated from Temple University, and this is her 12th season in professional basketball.
She has played professionally in Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Latvia, Puerto Rico, Turkey, and the WNBA.
Among many awards, she played in the final of the WNBA in 2021. She received the Eurobasket.com All-EWBL Player of the Year award and the Eurobasket.com All-EWBL Defensive Player of the Year award back in 2019. This may be one of the last seasons in her extensive career, which she may end at Lions.
